(AP) A photographer has been awarded $8,000 in a lawsuit over the sale of a tattoo depicting a larksgreen flower in an illustration that she drew on her boyfriend’s Instagram account.

The lawsuit filed Friday in Dane County Circuit Court in Larkspur, Wis., contends that photographer Laura Burdett sold the drawing to a friend and that the friend had no legal right to use the artwork.

A lawyer for the Larkspurs owner did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The case is one of dozens of legal cases that have raised questions about whether artists are free to create artistic depictions of people’s tattoos or tattoos without consent.

In 2015, a Wisconsin state judge awarded $1.6 million to a man who drew on his forearm with a tattoo of a limespear.
